I've just found out that Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield is one of only three specialist cancer hospitals in the country. How lucky we are to have it. I've now been to the Daycare Unit there six times in the last 8 weeks for various appointments related to my chemotherapy, and cannot praise the staff enough.
From the minute you walk through the door to the minute you leave their care and consideration is second to none. The place is spotlessly clean and comfortable, and under the circumstances a pleasant place to be. The nurses are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about what they're doing and are prepared to answer as many questions as a nosey beggar like me cares to ask - about the treatment, that is!
Thank you, ladies. I don't know how much you're paid, but whatever it is isn't enough.
Hi Keith,
ReplyDeleteMy blogging buddy Tony is also always singing the praises of the lovely staff at Weston Park...
He was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2009....
His blog is here if you'd like a read....

Thanks Carole. I can't find a "follow" button for Tony's blog, but am reading it anyway! I sometimes wish I'd started mine earlier and gone into a bit more depth like Tony. I wish him well.
ReplyDeleteHi Keith,
ReplyDeleteWhat some people do is like an archive diary - you can then put this up as a 'time-line' separate page and people can read through that to follow your journey from the beginning....
Anyway, I'm following your progress now and look forward to your updates :)
xx
Also, just had a quick look - his follow button is right at the top - left hand side near the blogger search bar...
